Hmm, there was a time that I didn’t like faux fur at all. It reminded me of real fur and some of you know that I’m against real fur. I would love to tell you more about animal cruelty, but I will spare you the little details guys.
More and more retailers and designers are adopting fur-free policies. That’s a good thing and I’m very happy with it. The fashion industry is changing; even the Dutch warehouse De Bijenkorf represents a fur-free policy. And many are yet to come! The famous Karl Lagerfeld stated: “You cannot fake chic but you can be chic and fake fur.”
Faux fur looks almost exactly like real fur, and you don’t have to think about having something dead hanging around your neck. But I have read somewhere that real fur has been being sold as faux fur and the consumers are being fooled by the fact that they are wearing faux fur, but it’s real. I don’t know if this strange fact is true, but an expert (like me haha) can feel if it’s real or fake.
When I bought this faux fur jacket during my last trip to Valencia, I arrived home and my silly dad asked me: ‘’Did you have something like this when you were little’’? Oh yes, I know, he was very enthusiastic! He has an odd sense of humor, but I’m not going to let him discourage me.
But it’s true, I was wearing faux fur jackets in the 90’s/00’s. I think all of you! However we (or definitely our moms) were following the latest fashion trends. But now they are back on track!
So this Winter you should snuggle up and stay warm with your furry friend! It`s warm, stylish, opulent and always make bold fashion statement. You can choose between multi-colour faux fur coats or go for those with the always trendy animal prints.
I choose for a simple grey faux fur jacket with a super soft hoodie. It’s kind of sporty but I like to combine it in a chique way. Whether you own a fab faux fur coat, jacket or fur vest, each of those pieces will add a touch of extravagance and luxury to your winter outfit.
